Cal Joslin was born on August 13, 1985, in Mahomet, Illinois. From a young age, he showed a natural talent for music, particularly the bass guitar. He grew up in a musical family, where he was surrounded by various instruments and genres of music.
After completing high school, Cal decided to pursue his passion for music by studying at a local college. It was during his time at college that he met future bandmates Dave Frey and Ben McDonald, with whom he would go on to form the Christian band Sidewalk Prophets in 2003.
Joining forces with Dave and Ben, Cal became the bassist for Sidewalk Prophets. The band quickly gained attention for their unique sound and powerful lyrics. Their debut single, "The Words I Would Say," became a massive hit and catapulted them to fame in the contemporary Christian music scene.
