Bronny James, the eldest son of NBA superstar LeBron James and Savannah Brinson, is making a name for himself as a highly-touted recruit in the high school basketball scene. Born on June 10, 2004 in Akron, Ohio, Bronny has been surrounded by basketball his entire life.
As a young boy, Bronny lived in various cities due to his father’s basketball career, including Cleveland, Ohio and Miami, Florida while LeBron played for the Miami Heat. It was during these early years that Bronny’s talent on the court began to garner attention from college scouts.
Even at a young age, Bronny showed promise on the basketball court. He led his AAU level team to the fourth grade national championship, giving a glimpse of the potential that lay ahead. As he continued to grow and develop his skills, it became evident that he had a bright future in basketball.
While attending Crossroads School in Santa Monica, California, Bronny faced a setback when he was prevented from playing on the varsity team as an eighth grader. However, he didn’t let this deter him from pursuing his passion for the game. In his freshman year of high school, he transferred to Sierra Canyon School, where he continued to excel on the court.
In May 2023, Bronny committed to the University of Southern California, a decision that solidified his dedication to pursuing a career in basketball at the collegiate level. With four-star recruit ratings from both ESPN and Rivals, Bronny is already making a name for himself as a top prospect in his class.
Off the court, Bronny enjoys spending time with his younger brother Bryce and sister Zhuri. He also recently began dating Peyton Gelfuso, adding another dimension to his busy life as a student-athlete.
One of Bronny’s mentors in the basketball world is his godfather, NBA point guard Chris Paul. With guidance from experienced players like Paul and the support of his family, Bronny is poised to continue making strides in his basketball career.
In addition to his athletic pursuits, Bronny joined the FaZe Clan in 2020, showcasing his versatility and interests beyond basketball. As he continues to grow and evolve as a player, Bronny is sure to leave a lasting impact on the basketball world and beyond.
