Bonny Hicks was born on May 1, 1968, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She was the daughter of Englishman Ron Hicks and Malaysian mother Betty Soh. Growing up, Bonny spent most of her youth in Singapore under the care of her mother. She attended Hwa Chong Junior College, where she would start to pave the way for her future career in modeling.
It wasn't until her time at Hwa Chong Junior College that Bonny Hicks was discovered as a potential model. Professional swimmer-turned-talent agent Patricia Chan Li-Yin saw her potential and convinced her to pursue a career in modeling. Bonny embraced this new path and soon found herself gracing the covers of magazines and walking the runways of top fashion shows around the world.
Bonny Hicks was not only known for her striking beauty but also for her thought-provoking writing. In 1990, she published her first socially groundbreaking book, "Excuse Me, Are You a Model?". This was followed by another successful book, "Discuss Disgust", in 1992. While traveling from Jakarta, Indonesia to Singapore in 1997, she and her fiancé, architect Randy Dalrymple, were killed in the crash of SilkAir Flight 185.
