Bob Huggins, also known as "Huggy Bear," was born on September 21, 1953, in Morgantown, West Virginia. He grew up in a basketball-loving family, with his father, Charles, serving as his high school basketball coach. Huggins attended Indian Valley South High School in Ohio, where he excelled on the basketball court, leading his team to an impressive 26-0 record during his senior year.
After graduating from high school, Huggins went on to pursue a career in college coaching.
