Big Lex, also known as Alexis, was born on January 21, 1992 in Columbia, South Carolina. She grew up in a close-knit family and discovered her passion for music at a young age. Alexis initially pursued a music career and released her first album, American Green, in November 2011. Although the album didn't receive widespread recognition, it was the beginning of her journey in the entertainment industry.
In 2020, Alexis made her reality TV debut on the show Joseline's Cabaret. This series follows exotic dancers as they live together in a mansion and work towards putting on a cabaret show. Alexis quickly became a fan favorite on the show, gaining over 420,000 followers on her Instagram account, where she shares updates about her life and promotes her music.
However, it was a viral moment on TikTok that really propelled Alexis to fame. During an emotional episode of Joseline's Cabaret, a fellow contestant shared her struggles with an unplanned pregnancy and the difficult decision to have an abortion. In response, Alexis blurted out the now-infamous phrase "double homicide," which quickly spread across social media and garnered attention for the show.
Despite her newfound fame, Alexis remains grounded in her roots and values her family above all else. She credits her upbringing in South Carolina for instilling in her a strong work ethic and determination to succeed in the industry.
She is also known for her collaborations with other artists, such as Stunna Girl and DJ Chose, on her 2021 album Carolina Princess Reloaded. These collaborations have allowed her to showcase her versatility as a musician and expand her fan base.
Currently, Alexis continues to work on her music and further establish herself in the entertainment world. She is partnered with Now That's TV, a platform that showcases emerging talent and provides opportunities for up-and-coming artists.
