Benjamin Uyeda was born on August 22, 1978, in Santa Barbara, California. He attended Cornell University, where he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Architecture.
After graduating from Cornell, Uyeda began his career as a visiting lecturer, focusing on sustainable design principles. In 2006, he co-founded ZeroEnergy Design, a firm dedicated to creating energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly buildings.
Uyeda's entrepreneurial spirit led him to found HomeMadeModern, a platform that showcases his innovative designs and DIY tutorials. He also launched FreeGreen.com, a website that offers free green home designs to the public.
