B Kliban, born on January 1, 1935 in Connecticut, was a talented cartoonist known for his unique and humorous illustrations. He attended Brooklyn's Pratt Institute for college, where he honed his artistic skills before embarking on a journey of painting and travelling through Europe.
After settling in San Francisco, Kliban began his career as a cartoonist, gaining popularity for his work in Playboy magazine. He also wrote the famous Catcalendar Cats; the Complete Collection in 1981 and Two Guys Fooling Around with the Moon in 1982. However, his most acclaimed work is Cat, a collection of cat cartoons illustrated in his signature style.
Kliban was survived by his second wife, Judith Kliban, and their two daughters, Sarah and Kalia. His second wife, Judith, later married actor Bill Bixby after Kliban's death in 1990.
B Kliban's unique and humorous illustrations continue to charm audiences around the world. His work has left a lasting impact on the world of cartooning, inspiring many artists to embrace their creativity and individuality.
