Austin Ainge was born on September 23, 1981, in Gilbert, Arizona, as the son of former Boston Celtic Danny Ainge and Michelle Ainge. Growing up in a basketball-loving family, it was no surprise that Austin would follow in his father's footsteps and pursue a career in the sport.
Like his father, Austin attended Brigham Young University (BYU) and played college basketball there. Known for his skill and determination on the court, he was named captain of the team for two years, showcasing his leadership abilities at a young age.
After graduating from college, Austin continued to stay involved in basketball. He served as an assistant coach at Southern Utah University before moving on to become the head coach of the NBA D-League's Maine Red Claws. His coaching skills were evident as he guided his team to success during his tenure.
In 2011, Austin was appointed as the Director of Player Personnel for the Boston Celtics, a role that allowed him to use his insights and knowledge of the game to make important decisions for the team. His dedication and expertise were invaluable assets to the organization.
Aside from his successful career in basketball, Austin also has a fulfilling family life. He married his wife Crystal in 2003, and together they have created a loving and supportive home environment for their children.
