Her academic journey took her to The American School in London, where she first discovered her love for art and design. She continued her studies at Universite Sorbonee Nouvelle, exploring the intricacies of vintage decor, textiles, furniture, and art. Finally, she earned a degree in sociology and anthropology from Carleton College, which provided her with a strong foundation for understanding the cultural significance of design.
After years of studying chemistry and apprenticing in art conservation, Ariel decided to transition into the corporate world. She landed a position as a buyer for a large online decor retailer, where she honed her skills in curating unique and quality items for customers.
In pursuit of her creative vision, Ariel founded Fig + Stone Designs, an online shop that showcases her curated collection of vintage and handmade items. Her expertise in vintage decor and textiles shines through in every piece, providing customers with a unique shopping experience.
In June of 2012, Ariel married Ned Fulmer of BuzzFeed's The Try Guys, a union that brought love and support into her life. Together, they welcomed their first child, Wesley James, in 2018, and their second child, Finn, in 2020. Their growing family is a source of joy and inspiration for Ariel.
