Andrew Benintendi was born on June 7, 1994 in Cincinnati, Ohio to parents Chris and Jill Benintendi. He grew up playing baseball and quickly showed promise as a talented player. In high school, Benintendi had a standout senior year where he batted an incredible .564, earning him the prestigious titles of ABCA/Rawlings National High School Player of the Year and Ohio Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year.
After high school, Benintendi attended the University of Arkansas where he continued to excel on the baseball field. He was named SEC Player of the Year and Baseball America College Player of the Year after leading the SEC in batting average, home runs, and on-base percentage.
In 2015, Benintendi was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the first round of the MLB draft. He made his debut with the team in August of 2016 and quickly proved himself as a valuable player. Benintendi played a key role in helping the Red Sox win the 2018 World Series.
