Despite his early success, Onana faced a setback in February 2021 when he tested positive for Furosemide and was banned from playing for 12 months by UEFA. Onana's upbringing in Cameroon and his experiences playing for top clubs in Europe have shaped him into the talented and resilient player he is today.
Prior to joining Barcelona's youth team, Onana attended the prestigious Samuel Eto'o Academy. The academy played a crucial role in his development as a player, providing him with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed at the professional level.
André Onana's journey from Cameroon to the top leagues of Europe is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and talent. Despite facing challenges along the way, he has continued to push himself to be the best player he can be.
