Amber Mildred Ruffin was born on September 1, 1979, in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Omaha, where her parents Theresa and James, both Air Force veterans, raised her. From a young age, Amber had a natural talent for making people laugh and entertaining others.
Amber attended a local high school in Omaha before going on to pursue higher education. She graduated from an esteemed university with a degree in communications, which helped her hone her writing and storytelling skills.
After completing her education, Amber decided to pursue a career in comedy. In 2008, she took a leap of faith and moved to Amsterdam to write and perform with the Boom Chicago Amsterdam troupe. This experience allowed her to showcase her comedic chops and further develop her unique comedic style.
