Allysha Lyn Chapman was born on January 25, 1989, in Oshawa, Canada. She grew up in the Oshawa area with her family, where she developed a love for soccer at a young age. Chapman's passion for the sport would eventually lead her to pursue a career as a professional soccer player.
Chapman began her collegiate soccer career at the University of Alabama at Birmingham before transferring to Louisiana State University in 2009. In 2006, Chapman was first signed by the Toronto Lady Lynx of the USL Women's League as a center-back.
