Born on November 11, 1886, in New Barbadoes Township, New Jersey, Alice was a woman ahead of her time. She attended Vassar College from 1903 to 1905, where she developed a passion for driving and adventure.

Starting in Hell's Gate, New York, she embarked on a daring cross-country drive that would take her all the way to San Francisco, California.
