She discovered her passion for weather at a young age and decided to pursue a career in broadcast meteorology. Wilson attended Syracuse University where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in broadcast journalism and marketing in 2006. She continued her education at Penn State University, graduating with distinction in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in meteorology.
In 2013, Wilson joined The Weather Channel, where she quickly established herself as a skilled and knowledgeable meteorologist. Prior to her time at The Weather Channel, she gained experience working at FOX Carolina in Greenville, South Carolina, WOWK-TV, and WVNS-TV in Huntington, West Virginia. Wilson's dedication and expertise in the field of meteorology earned her the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society.
Outside of her professional life, Wilson is a devoted animal lover and has adopted three dogs named Bandit, Riley, and Henry. In 2017, she married her partner, and the couple celebrated their first anniversary at Wharekauhau Luxury Lodge in New Zealand.
