Alejandro Guillier was born on March 5, 1953, in La Serena, Chile. He grew up in a middle-class family, the son of Alejandro Guillier Ossa and María Raquel Álvarez Monterrey. Guillier had a relatively uneventful childhood, but he was always curious about the world around him and eager to learn.
